hello friends! i was wondering if anyone had any experience with Amy Butler patterns and/or fabrics? the frenchy bag in particular. i'm in LOVE WITH HER STUFF!!! are the patterns fairly easy (aka for a fairly novice yet smart sewer) and are the fabrics as vivid as they seem on the site?
also, where have you bought the fabric and patterns from? on amy's site they list about 15 sites, but i don't know which one i should go with.
any help and/or pictures would be wonderful! and once i make the bag, i'll post! |

| | Iron Maiden- Out of the Silent Planet | ] | Hey crafty people, sorry again for the text-only post... again!
I have a couple of questions. First, is there any way to get a faded look on a new photograph? Like, when you find a really old photo of your grandparents and it's faded and kind of washed out looking? I want that effect for an art project I'm working on, but I'm stuck. Any ideas are would be much help (I have time to play around).
Second questions: Have any of you worked with silver leafing? I'm dying to try it on a few things but I want to know if anyone has had any bad experiences or anything, of it it's a total bitch to work with. Also, can it be applied to jewelry, or is it not supposed to be worn against skin?
Thanks in advance, and I promise I'll post pictures next time!
Edited to add: I'm looking more for ideas that don't involve editing on computers, if that's possible! |

Where does one get a small quantity of firewood this time of year? I'd like to have some for this weekend and we've exhausted everything in our small yard. I live in Bloomingdale and work in College Park, so ideally something in the close vicinity of either of those or in between would be ideal. |

| Camping |
[Jul. 22nd, 2008|06:30 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | amused | ] | I went camping this weekend, first with Kylle (part of the amazing Dynamic Duo + 1 who complete me), then with my father who came up the afternoon that Kylle left.
It was pretty amazing.
I had some hours to myself, and some things got settled in my mind. Only a few things though.
I still want to go to Portland. I still want Cayce and Drew to come with me. I don't want to lose them and I am almost entirely sure that she (Cayce) is the love of my life, and I will fight for her. Drew is sort of. . . a bonus. The way I feel about Cayce is this: She is the truffle to my chocolate shell, and Drew is the wrapper that keeps us safe from the outside world. It works so well. She and I are both Cancers and thus subject to our emotions and whims. Drew is a Sagitarius. . . Still impulsive and fun, but more likely to use his brain rather than his feelings. He sort of grounds us.
I just need to talk to her instead of worrying about stupid fucking little things. They pass, but I want her for the rest of my life.
Go figure.
More on the (ridiculous) camping trip later. |

MEAN PEOPLE SUCK!!! Especially those who call the police and make false allegations against nice people just because they are pissed off that their kid got suspended for bad behavior. And BTW, being the boss who has to tell the nice person that? Well damnit, that sucks too. I hate today.

Hi I'm new here. Some great recipes going around! I'm wondering what kind of suggestions you guys have for someone who doesn't really like tofu, or any type of 'simulated' vegan meats and cheeses? and another question, what is your favorite high-energy recipe/veg/etc. that doesn't include the following? so far my fav is an avocado and cucumber salad. it gives me more energy than a steak could, apparently, and sorry if this has been asked before. |
